Last week, I had the privilege to be part of the 2025 ISTE & ASCD Conference and Tradeshow in San Antonio, Texas. The event Spark Joyful Learning was a dynamic gathering that brought together thousands of educators, innovators, and changemakers under one roof. From the moment I stepped into the Henry B. González Convention Center, I felt an unmistakable energy: a collective heartbeat of passion, curiosity, and a shared commitment to transform joyful learning for every student.
Surrounded by Passionate Educators
There’s something extraordinary about being in the presence of people who deeply believe in the power of education. Throughout the event, I had conversations with educators from across the globe who are redefining what it means to teach and lead in today’s complex world. Whether it was a first-year teacher sharing classroom triumphs or a district leader championing equity and innovation, the enthusiasm was contagious.
This wasn’t just a tradeshow—it was a professional recharge. Being immersed in this vibrant learning community reminded me why Courage to Learn: Education Consulting Services exists: to support educators as they grow, reflect, and adapt in an ever-changing landscape.
Emerging EdTech Trends: The Rise of AI in Education
One of the most discussed topics throughout the conference was the surge of interest and investment in AI-powered tools. From keynote sessions to exhibit hall demos, it’s clear that artificial intelligence is not a distant idea—it’s already reshaping how we design instruction, differentiate learning, and streamline administrative work.
I explored platforms that use AI to provide real-time student feedback, generate personalized learning pathways, and assist with lesson planning in ways that are responsive, culturally relevant, and data-informed. But with great potential comes important conversations—about ethics, bias, student privacy, and the role of human connection in learning.
At Courage to Learn: Education Consulting Services, we believe technology should enhance—not replace—the relationships at the heart of education. Our work will continue to focus on helping schools and educators use these tools with discernment, ensuring that innovation remains grounded in equity, empathy, and purpose.
Looking Ahead
The ISTE & ASCD Conference reminded me that professional learning isn’t just about gaining new strategies—it’s about aligning our hearts and minds with the “why” behind what we do. It’s about courageously facing change, collaborating with others, and constantly learning so we can better serve the communities that depend on us.
As we head into the next school year, Courage to Learn remains committed to walking alongside educators in this work—offering training, thought partnership, and support that’s rooted in research, reflection, and real-world impact.
To everyone I met in San Antonio: thank you for sharing your ideas, your stories, and your commitment. And to those we haven’t met yet—let’s connect. The future of learning is being built every day, and it’s never been more important to build it together.
